Universal Studios Hollywood Now Re-Open!

Universal Studios Hollywood is officially re-open as of today! Since its closure in March of 2020, Universal continued to work hard on new attractions, dining options, and more. So when you step through the archway gate, you can expect some exciting new things to enjoy as the perfect “welcome back” celebration!

What’s New?

Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash

The biggest new addition to the park is the brand new Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash attraction! This all-new dark ride is filled with amazing details and impressive animatronic figures- 64 to be exact!

Guests exit through the gift shop in Pets Store where you can “adopt” you very own little plush pup and shop other Pets merch.

Jurassic World Although this ride re-opened in 2019 with the Jurassic World overlay/additions, the impressive Indominus Rex animatronic has now been added to the finale scene. This Indominus Rex is no joke. It spans approximately 55 feet long and 22 feet tall! Its massive size and impressive movement make it all the more realistic and terrifying! Minion Cafe The Despicable Me area’s quick service restaurant (formerly Gru’s Lab) has a whole new look and menu! Menu items include: grilled cheese, nachos, and sweet treats.

We recommend the chocolate banana pudding cup with Nutella spread!

What’s Returning?

Most of the park’s offerings will be back and fully operational. This includes fan-favorites, such as:

  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

  • Transformers: The Ride – 3D

  • Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride

  • The World-Famous Studio Tour

The park will also have the usual food, retail, characters, and other entertainment available for guests to enjoy.

Safety Guidelines

Universal has enhanced their sanitization procedures and implemented several additional safety measures. Some include:

  • Face coverings required

  • Temperature checks before you enter City Walk

  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout the park and before entering all attractions

  • Social distancing in queue lines, dining areas, and throughout the park
